Recreation and Team Sports (RATS) offers a fun, affordable,
play-all-day summer day camp for girls and boys entering 3rd through 8th grades. Kids of all ability levels are encouraged
to participate in moderately competitive activities in a supportive, creative and instructive environment. Kids learn and
play a variety of games, including basketball, baseball, touch/flag football, soccer, ping pong, European handball, and a
wide array of alternative and cooperative games. During "down time" they enjoy chess, checkers, foosball, board
games, silly talent competitions and much more. This is great chance for kids to try different sports and games and really
learn the basics, as well as an opportunity for "experienced athletes" to play in a diverse setting. No experience
is necessary... just a desire to play!
RATS Co-founder and Program Director Don Arreola-Burl has over 35 years
experience operating recreation programs, coaching, and teaching physical education. RATS is the fulfillment of his longtime
dream of a creating a mixed-age, diverse, "old-school" summer program in a community setting.
us for a summer of healthy fun!
